Launch Affirmations for Fine Artists
It’s not without trepidation that I type these words knowing they’re hitting your eyeballs and therefore public. I’ve had a decade-long painting dry spell.
Yes, me, the one who graduated with honors with the Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from a legit art school. The one who as a teen would dive into her parent’s basement for a full day (or sometimes 3) surfacing with stacks of painterly explorations on canvas created in a creative frenzy.
The young divorcee who dipped into cans of paint, big canvases, and broad bold neon layered brushstrokes as her heart did the impossible and opened up to love again.
It’s been YEARS since I consistently painted and the canvas is calling me again. I suspect the reason is the way a loved one’s core-shattering diagnosis has majorly shifted my life. I have visions of color that I’m compelled to bring to life as portals to explore or process emotions or perhaps to reconnect with myself? It’s too early to tell. I just know I need to trust and take a leap.
The problem is, I need a little courage, a lot of grace, and constant reminders that a finished painting is only a journey, not a destination. To help with this, I wrote a few affirmations. I’ve been waking up with them, going to sleep with them, and filling up pages upon pages of my journal with them, and I feel much less resistance when I start painting.
I know you can also experience these feelings when getting ready to launch a collection or offer. So I thought I’d create a few nourishing affirmations just for you. Reach for these words (or the accompanying recording) when you need a little loving encouragement and courage. They’re here for you. And so am I.
Without further ado, I present to you Launch Affirmations for Fine Artists.
Listen to the audio affirmations (you’ve got my permission to download the file for your personal use) or read them below.
My work makes a meaningful difference in the lives of my audience and patrons and I’ve got what it takes to share it with the world.
I trust my creativity and artistry will attract my people to me when I put my work out there with intention.
My job is to share my work so the perfect match will find it and to make it easy for them to become a patron.
I set loving boundaries that help me stay centered, energized, and creative and if I sense the edge of burnout, I can shift my boundaries to meet my needs.
I’m learning what a sustainable launch means to me and only I can determine what is sustainable in this season of my life.
When they show up, doubt and worry are just measures of how passionate I am about the work I'm doing, not a sign to quit.
I’m learning so much through the process of sharing my work and I’ll celebrate all lessons just like I’ll celebrate the wins.
Every launch is a promise of a wonderful journey that my audience signed up for, so I’ll share my work from a place of generosity and mutual excitement.
I’m honoring my work by being intentional about how I share it with the world.
There are so many circumstances that can influence the results of my launch, but these things are true: results aren’t a measure of my value as a human or place as an artist.
